Oversized
watches can be quite embarrassing for you. Imagine this-
You are at the
office and someone asks you the time. You raise your hand to tell them the time
and they see an oversized watch on your hand. Will you be comfortable with the
sight? If you are not going to then you must know how
to measure wrist size for watches. Once you have known the procedure
then you can easily purchase the right watch for you.
Your watch size
will be depending on your wrist size-
We, humans,
tend to maintain the balance and so the above sentence is not an odd one at
all. This would mean that if you have a small wrist then you will need a small
watch and the vice versa. Breaking this further we can divide it into Watch
case diameter, thickness, bandwidth, band material and the watch details and
other components.
Knowing about
case diameter-
This is the
noticeable element and must be considered if you are performing a measure of the wrist for the watch.
Men’s watches range from 38mm to 46mm and therefore anything above 46mm is too
large. Likewise, anything below 38mm is more of jewellery and can be the size
of women’s size watches. So how will you know what size will work for you? For
this, you should measure your wrist. You can use a measuring tape or hacks like
a dollar bill that you can wrap around the wrist. If your wrist measures 6 to 7
inches then you can choose watches with diameter cases of 38mm, 40mm and 42mm.
One of the reasons to choose the right diameter watches is that the thickness
of the watch will too increase along with the diameter.
Therefore,
once you have measured the watch
size for wrist, the right diameter watch must be chosen else
you will end buying a thick watch.
Check for watch
bandwidth-
A properly
chosen watch has a bandwidth that is half of its case diameter. This means that
if you are wearing a 40mm watch then its width is likely to be 20mm. So if you
are in love with wider bands only then you must choose a bigger diameter watch.
It is also
interesting to note that the metal of the bands also impacts the look. So if
you are looking for a bulky watch then you can go with a metal watchband.
So if the
choice of a good watch is your preference then all the above elements along
with your choice will work wonders.
